How This Works in Treatment 

Treating the wound works in conjunction with the underlying cause of the wound. In addition to treating the wound, we talk to you. Specifically, we talk to you about what caused the wound, where it came from, why it happened, and so forth. Crucially, we also go over what you can do to keep it from happening again. While communication is an important aspect of this, we do more than just communicate. It’s one thing to tell you what you can do to address the underlying causes of a wound. We work with you to make sure that it happens, so that you’re as well-informed as possible. The more our patients know about their wounds as well as the underlying causes of their wounds, the better able they are to, if not avoid being wounded in the future, avoid being wounded as severely or in the same way. At West Coast Wound Center, we constantly discuss anything in our patients’ lives that could even potentially affect optimal wound healing.
