Do you need wound care that delivers proven results for you or a loved one? Are you tired of having to repeatedly visit medical facilities outside of Fresno for wound care treatments? At West Coast Wound Care, we offer a better solution. We provide holistic, healing wound care for Fresno and the surrounding areas.

Our goal is to bring effective, convenient care to you, wherever you are, and to simplify the process so you don’t have to keep returning to a medical facility.

We understand the challenges that come with managing wounds. Whether it’s the pain, discomfort, or the frequent trips to a doctor’s office, caring for wounds can be taxing for both patients and their families. With that in mind, we combine evidence-based medicine and the latest technology to offer the results you deserve.

The Wound Care Fresno Deserves

Before founding West Coast Wound Care, our team worked extensively in medical facilities providing wound care. In that setting, patients would come in, receive care, and return home, only to come back for the same treatment. Many would return again and again because there was no other option. Worse, no education or guidance was given to help patients or their families care for the wounds on their own.

Essentially, the medical facility’s solution was to have patients return repeatedly for wound care. At the risk of understatement, this did little to empower patients or offer sustainable results.

Recognizing the need for a better approach, our founders established West Coast Wound Care. Instead of requiring patients to travel back and forth to a facility, why not bring wound care directly to Fresno? By doing so, patients can receive the care they need without leaving the comfort and safety of their familiar surroundings.

This idea laid the foundation for our company’s mission: to provide expert wound care here in the Fresno area. Now, we operate out of Fresno and provide wound care across the entire Fresno area.

Consistent, Convenient Care

We understand that many of our patients have had to travel back and forth to medical facilities for regular wound treatment, sometimes several times a week. That can be exhausting and inconvenient, especially if your mobility is limited. Our mission is to reduce, or even eliminate, the need for frequent office or hospital visits.

Here, at our Fresno wound care center, we believe that patients should have access to high-quality care, rather than having to transfer to other facilities. That’s just one of the reasons why we offer complex wound care that is tailored to your needs.

What We Treat

In essence, we treat wounds of all kinds. Our specialists provide holistic care to address a wide range of wounds and conditions.

For instance, many of the wounds we treat are post-surgical. After surgery, wounds can be difficult to manage, but we offer treatment that minimizes recovery time and ensures proper healing. Additionally, we treat malignant wounds—those that invade the skin and blood vessels—as well as cellulitis, a bacterial infection that penetrates deep into the skin.

Traumatic wounds, including cuts, lacerations, and punctures, are also within our scope. If your wound was caused by a bite or another type of trauma, our team is well-equipped to handle it with the utmost care.

Ulcer Treatment

Ulcers are another common reason patients seek our Fresno  wound care services. Whether you are dealing with pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, arterial ulcers, or venous ulcers, we offer compassionate, cutting-edge treatment to address these painful wounds. Our approach is not just about using the latest technology but also about providing care with a personal touch.

Tumors, Infections, and Other Concerns

We also offer care for more complex conditions. Our specialists can effectively treat basal cell and melanoma cancers, squamous cell carcinoma, actinic keratosis, keratoacanthoma, and seborrheic keratosis.

When it comes to skin infections, we have successfully treated conditions such as herpes zoster (shingles), herpes simplex, staph infections, scabies, and tinea (fungal infections), among others.

Inflammatory disorders are another area where we have extensive experience. We treat conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, intertrigo, psoriasis, and rosacea. Many patients have come to trust us for our ability to provide relief and effective care for these disorders.

Other Conditions We Treat

Even if your condition wasn’t mentioned specifically above, we can still provide help. Our team treats patients with reactions to drugs, heat rash, skin atrophy, sun damage, and even dry, itchy skin. We’re here to provide effective care for a wide range of skin conditions and wounds.

If you didn’t see the exact condition you or your loved one is facing, that doesn’t mean we can’t help. We encourage you to reach out for a consultation so we can assess your specific situation and offer the best treatment plan.

Treatments We Provide

Each wound is unique and requires the proper care that addresses its specific needs. At West Coast Wound Care, our specialists carefully conduct a comprehensive analysis before administering any treatment to ensure that you or your loved one receives the most effective, tailored care. This individualized approach guarantees that the treatment provided is the exact, best option for healing.

For instance, many of our patients require surgical debridement, a procedure where we utilize advanced technology and methods to safely remove damaged tissue. By doing so, we can prevent further damage and reduce the risk of infection, allowing the wound to heal more efficiently. Surgical debridement is essential for many wounds, as it paves the way for new, healthy tissue to grow and thrive in the affected area.

In some cases, the removal of tissue is not the best option. Instead, we may employ skin grafting, where we transplant healthy skin to the wounded area. This process not only helps the area heal but also encourages blood vessels to grow and regenerate, improving the health of the wound as well as your overall well-being. Skin grafts are a powerful tool in treating wounds that require extra support to close and heal properly.

Another advanced treatment we offer is the wound vac (vacuum-assisted closure) therapy. After the wound is dressed and cleaned, gentle suction is applied to the area. This suction removes fluid from the wound, helping to close the edges safely while stimulating healthy tissue growth. The wound vac effectively shortens healing time, narrows the wound, and reduces the risk of infection, all while promoting a more rapid and healthy recovery.

These are just a few examples of the many wound care treatments we provide. There are many, many others.

Beyond Wound Care: Nutrition, Mobility, and More

Treating wounds goes beyond just addressing the visible injury. It’s about caring for the person as a whole—body, mind, and spirit. Our team is committed to ensuring that you receive the comprehensive care you deserve for your complete well-being.

At West Coast Wound Care, we recognize that your overall health plays a crucial role in how your wounds heal. That’s why we address the underlying causes of your wounds in addition to providing direct treatment. For example, we assess both intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external) factors that could affect your healing process. By taking a broader perspective, we’re able to provide more effective care.

We also work closely with other professionals involved in your care. Whether it’s your nutritionist, physical therapist, or primary care doctor, we collaborate to ensure you’re receiving the right support for optimal healing. Nutrition, for example, plays a pivotal role in wound care. Without proper nourishment, your body may struggle to repair itself, delaying healing and increasing the risk of complications.

Mobility is another critical factor we address. Being able to move safely and comfortably is essential to long-term recovery. If necessary, we will work with your physical therapist to develop strategies that improve your mobility without disrupting the healing of your wounds.

Our commitment goes beyond just delivering treatments. We believe that patient education is key to successful healing. When we treat you, we also ensure you’re informed and equipped to take care of your wounds when we’re not around. This includes educating you and your caregivers on the proper use of wound dressings, hygiene practices, and even how to spot early signs of complications.
