You deserve the proper care and treatment for your wounds. Here at West Coast Wound Care, we provide a wide range of wound healing services. One person’s wounds are not the same as another’s, so one person’s wound care should not be the same as another’s. We tailor our wound care to your exact, specific needs.
Below are some of the different kinds of wound care that our members provide. We may utilize these or other treatments in your care. As your needs evolve, we’ll alter your treatments along with it, so that we can always provide you and yours with what you need at the time you need it.
Wound Debridements
Through our wound debridement, we can remove dead tissue from your wound and the surrounding area. Dead tissue can hide pus, it can trap bacteria, it can slow your wound’s healing, it can lead to infection, and worse. Debridement not only removes the dead, damaging tissue from your body, but it does so in the safest, most comfortable way possible. There are multiple debridement methods. When you meet with us, we’ll go over your options with you. We’ll let you know which we recommend for your care and then we’ll provide you with the kind of debridement that both removes your dead tissue and also accelerates the healing process.
Wound Dressing Selection
Our wound specialists can provide you with the exact right kind of wound dressings for your wounds. That way, we can better facilitate the healing process. For example, some wounds might be best served with gauze dressings, whereas others would see the best results from hydrocolloid dressings. Whether the best wound dressings for you are non-adherent, alginate, foam, hydrogel, collagen, or others, we can find the right ones for you. That said, we provide more than just treatment and care for your wounds. We administer holistic wound care. That means we treat the entire person and not just your wounds. Your mind, your body, your emotions, and your spirit – they all factor prominently into your optimal health, too. As such, we treat the whole you, so that you feel better both today and moving forward.
Wound VAC Therapy
VAC, in this context, is an acronym for “vacuum-assisted closure.” Our wound specialists use a vacuum pump to create negative pressure around your wounds which gently brings your wound’s edges together. This therapy has been shown to significantly decrease if not downright eliminate swelling, inflammation, and any risk of bacterial infection. Beyond that, it also can make you more comfortable both now and in the future, as this may lead to fewer wound dressings as time goes on. As you might imagine, this therapy isn’t going to be right for every person or for every wound. We will discuss all of your options with you so we can provide you with the kind of care to help you reach your optimal health.
Our Commitment to Wound Healing, Our Commitment to You
What’s mentioned above are just some of the treatments and methods that our wound specialists can provide. There are many, many others. It’s perfectly understandable if you’ve read to this point and thought some version of: “I’m not sure which of these treatments would be right for my wounds.” That’s our job. We’ll examine your wounds and then provide you with the appropriate care. Moreover, we can do all of this at your home and on your property. We can administer care wherever you would like.
